Open call – Theatre Festival in Cyprus 2025

Are you a newly established performing artist or part of a small independent group? Do you want to showcase your work on an international level? Intercult is looking for a small theater production for a theater festival in Cyprus, in the framework of the Theatre in Palm project.

About the festival
Theatre in Palm offers emerging artists* a unique opportunity for professional development and networking in Europe. Through this open call, one Swedish theatre production will be selected to participate in the festival in Cyprus, organized by THOC (Cyprus Theatre Organization). The main aim of the festival is to create a platform for quality performances, foster collaboration, inspire and share insights – while encouraging participants to learn from each other’s work and build new relationships.

Important information

• When? April 10-13, 2025.
• Where? Theater Apothikes, Nicosia (Cyprus).
• Language: English, or Swedish, provided that participants provide subtitles in English.
• Theme: Identity.
• Duration: The performance should be 20-40 minutes long.
• Set design/props: The festival uses standard modern sets. Due to logistical and practical reasons, minimal use of additional props is recommended.

NOTE: Only finished performances are eligible for application, as the festival does not include time for rehearsals or development of new material.

Cost recovery
A grant of 30,000 SEK is paid to participating artists and includes all costs related to the festival (such as travel, accommodation and food).

Application conditions

• The production consists of 1-3 newly established professional performing artists.

• The performance should last 20-40 minutes and be related to the theme “Identity”.

• Participants must be resident in Sweden and at least 18 years old.

• Fill in the application form carefully and submit it by January 13, 2025.
