This course provides artists with an in-depth, hands-on exploration of sustainable paint and pigment creation. Participants will engage with:<\/span><\/p>\n

  • Pigment Sourcing & Creation\u00a0\u2013 Collecting raw materials and turning them into usable pigments through grinding, drying, and chemical processes.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Sustainable Paint Mixing\u00a0\u2013 Experimenting with binders and solvents to create paints with natural and eco-friendly components.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Historical and Contemporary Insights\u00a0\u2013 Learning from historical case studies and contemporary practices in sustainable art.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Practical Applications & Experimentation\u00a0\u2013 Testing self-made pigments and paints on various surfaces.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Waste Management & Safe Practices\u00a0\u2013 Understanding how to handle, dispose of, and recycle art materials responsibly.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      • The global pigment industry and its impact on sustainability.<\/span><\/li>\n
      • The environmental cost of synthetic pigments and alternatives.<\/span><\/li>\n
