{"id":2929,"date":"2026-05-28T14:52:20","date_gmt":"2026-05-28T14:52:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/intercult.se\/2026\/05\/28\/the-europe-festival-in-kungstradgarden-a-full-day-of-community-culture-and-eu-quizzes\/"},"modified":"2026-05-28T14:52:20","modified_gmt":"2026-05-28T14:52:20","slug":"the-europe-festival-in-kungstradgarden-a-full-day-of-community-culture-and-eu-quizzes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/intercult.se\/en\/2026\/05\/28\/the-europe-festival-in-kungstradgarden-a-full-day-of-community-culture-and-eu-quizzes\/","title":{"rendered":"The Europe Festival in Kungstr\u00e4dg\u00e5rden &#8211; a full day of community, culture and EU quizzes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"p-rc_c6406e0aa4f4b809-30\" data-path-to-node=\"1\"><span class=\"citation-577 citation-end-577\">On Saturday, May 9, 2026, Kungstr\u00e4dg\u00e5rden in Stockholm was transformed into a vibrant European festival!  <\/span><span class=\"citation-576 citation-end-576\">With glorious sunshine, a packed program and free entry, this year&#8217;s Europe Day attracted a large number of visitors to celebrate peace, cohesion and European democracy.  <\/span><span class=\"citation-575 citation-end-575\">From 11:00 to 18:00, Kungstr\u00e4dg\u00e5rden was filled with life and movement.<\/span> <span class=\"citation-574 citation-end-574\">Visitors were treated to a great mix of food, live music, exciting political debates, representation from over 31 countries and attractions &#8211; including the chance to check out the world&#8217;s largest coffee pot!<\/span><\/p>\n<h6 data-path-to-node=\"4\"><span class=\"citation-573 citation-end-573\" style=\"color: #ff9900;\">Full activity in the Europe Direct tent<\/span><\/h6>\n<p id=\"p-rc_c6406e0aa4f4b809-32\" data-path-to-node=\"5\"><span class=\"citation-572\">One of the most popular stops of the festival was the tent where <\/span><b data-path-to-node=\"5\" data-index-in-node=\"56\"><span class=\"citation-572\">Europe Direct Stockholm\/Intercult<\/span><\/b><span class=\"citation-572 citation-end-572\"> was located.<\/span> <span class=\"citation-571\">We were there together with our colleagues from <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/europadirektsydskane.se\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b data-path-to-node=\"5\" data-index-in-node=\"152\"><span class=\"citation-571\">Europe Direct South Sk\u00e5ne <\/span><\/b><\/a><span class=\"citation-571\">and the tent was also shared with<\/span><b data-path-to-node=\"5\" data-index-in-node=\"152\"><span class=\"citation-571\"> the Climate Pact Ambassadors.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p id=\"p-rc_c6406e0aa4f4b809-33\" data-path-to-node=\"6\"><span class=\"citation-570 citation-end-570\">The Europe Direct tent provided plenty of opportunities for citizens to learn more about the EU and how to make their voice heard:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"7\">\n<li>\n<p id=\"p-rc_c6406e0aa4f4b809-34\" data-path-to-node=\"7,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"7,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\"><span class=\"citation-569\">Engagement and impact:<\/span><\/b><span class=\"citation-569 citation-end-569\"> Visitors learned about the European network and practical tools such as <a href=\"https:\/\/citizens-initiative.europa.eu\/index_sv\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the European Citizens&#8217; Initiative<\/a>, which gives ordinary citizens the chance to directly influence EU legislation.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p id=\"p-rc_c6406e0aa4f4b809-35\" data-path-to-node=\"7,1,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"7,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\"><span class=\"citation-568\">Art exhibition at Kulturhuset:<\/span><\/b><span class=\"citation-568\"> Many young creatives took the opportunity to hear more about our open call, seeking young artists for an upcoming art exhibition at <\/span><i data-path-to-node=\"7,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"190\"><span class=\"citation-568\">Experience Europe<\/span><\/i><span class=\"citation-568 citation-end-568\">  in the Kulturhuset Stadsteatern.
