This October, Stockholm becomes a stage for bold ideas and artistic visions at <\/span>Turning The Tide \u2013 The Stockholm Lab<\/span> (15\u201317 October), a three-day international gathering exploring how art and culture can drive climate action, civic engagement, and sustainable urban futures.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Stockholm Lab is designed for cultural professionals, artists, urban planners, researchers, policymakers, and activists who are passionate about connecting creativity with climate action.<\/strong> By attending, participants gain direct access to international experts and practitioners, discover innovative artistic approaches to sustainability, and exchange knowledge across disciplines. The Lab offers tangible benefits such as networking opportunities with peers and decision-makers, exposure to new strategies for building resilient cities, and practical insights into how art and culture can influence civic engagement and environmental policy.<\/p>\n

The programme takes place across three inspiring venues: <\/span>Kulturhuset<\/b>, Stockholm\u2019s cultural heart in the city centre; <\/span>Vrak \u2013 Museum of Wrecks<\/b>, a waterfront landmark with striking views of Slussen; and <\/span>Stadg\u00e5rdsterminalen<\/b>, an industrial harbour site reimagined as a space for contemporary artistic expression.<\/span><\/p>\n

15 October | Vrak \u2013 Museum of Wrecks<\/b>
\n<\/b> Art as a Force for Social Change<\/span><\/i> \u2014 The first day focuses on how art can inspire social and environmental change, opening with study visits and project introductions, followed by discussions on the role of art in public discourse and climate activism. Artistic interventions, international perspectives and a dialogue between artists and scientists highlight the potential of creative expression to mobilize communities and influence policy.<\/span><\/p>\n

16 October | Kulturhuset Stadsteater<\/b>
\n<\/b> Water, Cities, and Sustainability<\/span><\/i> \u2014 The second day addresses the challenges coastal cities face in the context of climate change, with a focus on urban resilience, water management, and innovative planning. Expert talks, artistic contributions, and discussions explore strategies for building adaptive cities while showcasing how interdisciplinary collaboration can foster sustainable urban futures.<\/span><\/p>\n

17 October | Vrak \u2013 Museum of Wrecks<\/b>
\n<\/b> Future Visions and Action<\/span><\/i> \u2014 The final day looks ahead to practical solutions, exploring how art can move from raising awareness to driving real-world impact. Through keynotes, artistic interventions, roundtables, and dialogues, participants will examine ethical responsibility, cross-sector partnerships, and the concrete steps needed to turn creative ideas into effective climate action.<\/span><\/p>\n

17 October Evening | Stadg\u00e5rdsterminalen<\/b>
\n<\/b> Closing Showcase<\/span><\/i> \u2014 To conclude the Lab, a special evening event at Stadg\u00e5rdsterminalen will present the works of <\/span>Jonna Bo Lammers<\/b> and <\/span>Agnieszka Stobierska<\/b>, offering a powerful finale that ties together the artistic, social, and environmental threads of the programme.<\/span><\/p>\n

On <\/span>16 October at Kulturhuset<\/b>, the Lab will feature a <\/span>dedicated Art Fair<\/b>, presenting <\/span>15 artworks created within the European Turning the Tide project<\/b>. The exhibition brings together diverse artistic practices that translate the complexity of climate change into powerful, imaginative, and accessible experiences for the public.<\/span><\/p>\n

Featured artists include: <\/span>Jenny Marketou, Tina Eskilsson, Ongoing Realities, Ludmila Christeseva, Vlady, Ajja, Zoe Lakides, Kasia Piorek, Celina Przykl\u0119k, Gisela Stiegler, Bartosh Zimniak, Froso Papadimitriou, Eva Andronikidou, and Kamila Chomicz<\/b>.
