Are you an emerging artist or part of a small independent theatre group? Would you like to showcase your work on an international stage? Intercult is seeking a small theatre production to participate in a theatre festival in Cyprus, as part of the Theatre in Palm project.
About the Festival
Theatre in Palm offers emerging performing artists* a unique opportunity for professional development and networking in Europe. Through this open call, a Swedish theatre production will be selected to participate in the festival in Cyprus, organized by THOC (Cyprus Theatre Organization). The main purpose of the festival is to provide a platform for high-quality performances, promote collaboration, inspire creativity, and share insights – while encouraging participants to experience each other’s work and build new connections.

Key Information
- When? April 10–13, 2025.
- Where? Theatre Apothikes, Nikosia (Cyprus).
- Language: English, or Swedish provided that English subtitles are included.
- Theme: Identity.
- Length: The performance must be 20–40 minutes long.
- Set/Props: The festival uses a modern version of stock sets. For logistical and practical reasons, minimal use of additional props is recommended.
Please note: Only completed productions are eligible for application, as the festival does not include time for rehearsals or the development of new material.
Cost coverage
A travel grant of 30,000 SEK will be provided to the participating performing artists, including all expenses related to the festival (such as travel, accommodation, and food).
Application Requirements
- The production consists of 1–3 emerging professional performing artists.
- The performance must be 20–40 minutes long and align with the theme “Identity.”
- Participants must reside in Sweden and be at least 18 years old.
- Complete the application form carefully and submit it no later than January 13, 2025.
