Mapping study - tools for audience engagement in the Baltic Sea Region

Baltic Audience Links: cultural innovations for participatory urban regeneration is a study that focuses on participatory approach in cultural regeneration of urban spaces and in contributing into development of the local communities. The research is conducted by Lithuanian partner, laboratory for urban games and research Laimikis . According to them one of side-effects of the research is the emerging topic about the capacity of cultural actors in the Baltic states and the conditions of working in cultural sector, which could bring a useful debate about the changes needed in the management of the cultural sector in Lithuania and Latvia to sustain positive change that cultural organisations bring to the local communities.

The result of the research will be an open growing data base (keeping technical solution for a future task) of cultural organisations in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonian, including some Poland organisations, a toolbox of methods and principles and a set of cases in developing and supporting local networks through cultural actions. We see Baltic Audience Links as a small cluster of the bigger network of the cultural innovators, that apply culture as a tool of positive change in the Baltic Sea Region.

We will be happy to cooperate with existing networks and cultural actors. We invite cultural actors, active in participatory development to register for the database by using this form (open till March 26): https://tinyurl.com/hcm8aku

The partners of the Baltic Audience Links project — Intercult, River // Cities platform and Laimikis Lab — have already contributed in the growing regional networks of cultural actors. We have already started connecting these ”parts” of the regional network through joint events (Audience Development Links in Stockholm, February; Co-urbanism: cultural action and urban regeneration in Vilnius, April; Meeting in Gdansk, May).

Co-urbanism 2017 event will take place in Vilnius on April 7.
The annual event brings together active residents, urban artivists, designers and architects, municipal workers, representatives of NGO sector and govermental organisations to share the methods and cases of cooperative development of city spaces. We are interested in placemaking cases and non-formal education methods, co-design initiatives, citizens media platforms and many more. We are seeking forward to discuss real challenges and working processes!

The call for contributing to Co-urbanism event in Vilnius event is open.
The organisers, Laimikis.lt, is waiting for the abstracts till March 18.
Contact person for sending topic proposal, summaries and short info on organisation is: Jekaterina.Lavrinec@gmail.com
